As an immigrant painter living in the United States, I engage with my surroundings by observing my emotional responses and translating them into a visual language that traces the evolution of consciousness. My practice centers on quiet, often overlooked moments, offering them as sites for reflection, interpretation, and connection. By working with subject matter that holds universal resonance, I aim to move beyond personal introspection and create space for shared experience and expanded narratives.

Building on my earlier explorations of dark palettes and atmospheric elements that highlight the emotional textures embedded in daily experience, my current project investigates how nuanced emotional states and daily experiences shape an expanded awareness of the present, both internally and in relation to others. It reflects my process of navigating internal dialogue while adapting to a shifting external world. Through these works, I confront fear, social anxiety, and questions of power, seeking a deeper understanding of belonging and how art can foster connection.

I work primarily in watercolor, drawn to its fluidity and inherent unpredictability. My process involves building and dissolving layers—applying washes, lifting pigment, and reworking the surface—to evoke depth, transparency, and a sense of temporal unfolding. This iterative, meditative approach allows images to emerge gradually, guided as much by intuition as by observation. Over time, my initial emotional response softens, creating space for memory and reflection to surface through the material.
